I am currently training to be a coach with Coaching Minds. My particular interest is career coaching. I will update this page once I am qualified with information on my coaching services and prices.
Coaching helps you get from where you are to where you want to be.
Coaching helps you identify areas and thinking that may be preventing you from experiencing greater wellbeing and moving forward. It helps you understand your goals, what obstacles are in your way, and what you need to do to overcome them.
Coaching is not about giving you answers, it is about helping you find your own answers. Often we can’t find the right answers because we aren’t asking the right questions. A coach’s role is to listen, ask you the right questions, and reflect back what they hear.
Coaching is not mentoring, counselling, therapy or any kind of medical care. Coaches do not give advice or tell you about their experiences.
Your journey of self-awareness, discovery and reflection begins in our first session. Our sessions will be governed by your aims and goals, and we will discuss and progress with the agenda you set for each session. You will do most of the talking and I will ask you questions and reflect back to you what I hear.
Our sessions will be open and honest. At times I may challenge you; this forms part of your coaching journey. It is aimed to help you get past any blocks or fears you may be facing, encourage you to progress towards your goals, and help create a resolution for any challenges you may currently be facing. Our sessions will aim to positively make a difference in your behaviour and action.
In our sessions I won’t be providing you with answers but I will be providing you with tools, techniques and strategies to guide you to the right answers. Some of our sessions may include exercises to help your thinking. From our sessions, you should expect to take a number of actions and develop motivation to work towards your vision and goals, or wherever you are trying to get to.
You will get the best out of our sessions by communicating openly and honestly, and creating the time and energy to participate fully.
Coaching starts with an introductory session. This allows you and me to get to know each other. You explain what you are looking for, or what you are having difficulties with. I explain my qualifications, how I can help (if I can), and any practical information such as how I organise sessions, pricing and so on.
If we want to work together, I will send you my terms, the Coaching Minds and EMCC codes of conduct I follow, and we will organise the first session.
I work remotely and use Google Hangout for coaching sessions.
Confidentiality
Our coaching sessions are confidential. They are a safe space for you to be yourself.
It is important you understand that in the following situations I may have to share otherwise confidential information for specific purposes.
Where the law requires me to share: for example, if I get a court order asking for certain client information.
If you share any information that suggests a threat of harm to you or others, or any illegal activity: I may need to inform the relevant authorities.
With a Coaching Minds supervisor, for learning, support and feedback: while I am still training, this is a course requirement.
